SSD (SSD) vs Hard Disk (HDD) vs SSHD (SSHD)? which is better

Currently, hard disk, SSD are available in the market of our country as storage for desktop PC. However, SSHD is used in some laptop. The names of these three types of storage are different as well as the way of working. Solid State Drive (SSD) is a data storage device that uses flash memory to store all data. Hard Disk Drive (HDD) is an electromechanical data storage device that stores digital data using rotating disks or platters. Solid State Hybrid Drive (SSHD) is a type of hard disk that contains a small amount of solid state storage (SSD). Hard disk is used more in our country. So hard disk price in Bangladesh is very low. However, the demand for SSD is also increasing day by day. As a result, SSD price in Bangladesh will be decrease soon. When buying computer storage, you should choose the best one based on the usage and function. Following are some of the differences and advantages between Hard Disk, SSD and SSHD.

1. Speed:

  • Hard disk (HDD) has an average file read-write time of 50 to 120 megabytes per second.
  • SSHD average file read-write time is 190 MB per second.
  • SSD read-write time averages 200 to 550 megabytes per second.
  • Opinion: In terms of speed, SSD is the fastest.

2. Sound and Vibration:

  • Some noises are caused by the rotating platters of the hard disk / SSHD.
  • SSD doesn't make noise because they don't have moving parts.
  • Opinion: SSD is ahead

3. Durability:

  • Hard disk (HDD) has less durability than SSD.
  • The stability of SSHD is very good because SSHD has a combination of SSD and SDD.
  • SSD is considered to be the most durable of all.
  • Opinion: If you think about the stability, the stability of SSD is the most.

4. Dependency:

  • Among hard disk (HDD), SSD (SSD) and SSHD (SSHD), SSD is considered the most dependent. Because there is a possibility of storage or data loss in hard disk or SSHD. But the chances of losing data stored on SSD is very low.
  • Opinion: SSD is forward dependent

5. Capacity:

  • Hard disk (HDD) capacity is up to 10 terabytes.
  • The maximum capacity of SSHD is 8 GB.
  • The capacity of SSD is up to 4 terabytes.
  • Opinion: In terms of capacity, the capacity of hard disk (HDD) is the highest.

6. Lifespan:

  • Lifespan of hard disk / SSHD is very short.
  • SSD has data good for up to 200 years.
  • Opinion: SSD is ahead

7. Gaming / Graphics:

  • Hard disk (HDD) has high storage capacity but low speed.
  • SSHD has more storage capacity but better speed.
  • SSD has smaller capacity but higher speed.
  • Opinion: Gamers need both better speed and more storage capacity so SSHD is ahead.

8. Price:

  • The cost of hard disk is relatively low.
  • SSD is expensive.
  • Opinion: Hard disk forward

Final Opinion:

SSD is ahead but you should select based on your needs.

This is an great article on solid drive and traditional hard disk. Though hard disk is widely used in Bangladesh beoz of its availability and cheap price. SSD is getting familiar day by day and price is lower as usual. This article helps a lot.
